As it was with the original iPhone, the iPad has followed in its tracks. All I heard for a while was that Apple held back so their next release of the iPhone would have better options, increasing sales. Some of the options in the iPhone 3G and 4 could have and probably should have been included in the options for the first iPhone.
Here’s a snippet from a forum where someone has his own thoughts about the new and improved iPad2.
So I waited in line for 1 1/2 hr at Best Buy today and picked up a 32GB WIFI iPad2.
Overall I feel that this is what the original iPad should have been.
When the first iPad was released it was fast, then after iOS updates and bug fixes it eventually became really sluggish. Well… needless to say this new iPad is what the 3GS was to the original 3G iPhone.
Definitely evolutionary, but not revolutionary. If you have the original iPad and you don’t really need the performance upgrade, I would hang on to it. The camera on the iPad2 is pathetic to say the least. lighter weight makes it easier to hold and use without a case, and the performance enhancements are welcome, but again… I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. It feels 90% the same as the first iPad.
The Android phones have taken off and sales are increasing. If you are a power user and want the best options from a very comparable product, check out the Android Tablets.
